This program for Seniors offers recreational and educative events for seniors, enhancing the living experience of Seniors in Canada.
The New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) is a federal grants and contributions program. It provides funding for projects that make a difference in the lives of seniors and in their communities.
PAST ACTIVITIES
Alberta Parliament (Legislature) Tour
They learnt about the history of the Legislature building, the seating arrangement and deliberation process while the Parliament is in session.
Viewing the displayed portraits of the past Premiers of Alberta, assisted in understanding the history surrounding the emergence of each of them and, especially their respective contribution to the development of the Province.
Road Trip to Elk Island
The Seniors were taken on a road trip to Cold Lake with a short stop over on the way to have a feel of the Elk Island.

Road Trip to Cold Lake
After the short stop over at Elk Island, the seniors continued their road trip to Cold Lake. At Cold Lake, they visited the Canadian Forces Base, the Museum, Provincial Park, as well as Marina and Kinosoo Beach
Participants saw different fighter jets and visited the runway being used for takeoff and landing at the Canadian Forces Base.
Paricipants enjoyed a beautiful sight seeing experience and appreciated nature at the Provincial Park at Cold Lake.
The visit to the First Nation section was a key highlight at the visit to the Museum.
